Pour oil in a bowl and add spices such as curry and cumin, or use a spice mix such as ras el hanout or baharat, which will give a more intense flavor.
2
Cut the meat into fine strips for frying in the pan, or cooking in the oven to make the texture as similar as possible to barbecuing. Leave the meat the marinate in the spices for half an hour to absorb their flavor.
3
Once marinated, fry the meat in a pan with two tablespoons of oil.
4
While the meat is cooking, wash the lettuce leaves and chop them into strips, and cut the tomato into thin slices, add the sweetcorn and set the mixture aside.
5
Moisten the pita breads and cook in the oven for 3 minutes. They can also be put in the toaster.
6
Open each of the breads and fill with the meat, lettuce, tomato, sweetcorn and feta cheese.
7
As a final touch, add a tablespoon of tzatziki or yoghurt sauce.
