Olive oil consolidates its position as the main motor of agrifood exports from Andalusia

As confirmed by the Business Agency for the Transformation and Economic Development – Andalucía TRADE, agrifood exports from Andalusia have reached a new record since there are homologable data (1995). Thus, they amount to 8.903 million euros in the first half of 2024, thanks to a year-on-year growth of 14%, which makes the community a leader in international sales, with almost one out of every four euros exported by Spain (23.7%).

Olive oil is the main drive of this growth, with 68.3% of total sales, reaching a historical record of 2.441 million euros.

Andalusian agribusiness has contributed from January to June 2024 a total of 5,249 million euros of positive balance to Andalusia’s foreign trade balance, also with record figures, thanks to a coverage rate of 243.6%, up to 104 points above the rate of Spain (139%).

Andalusia continues to lead exports of food and beverages in Spain, by concentrating almost one in four euros (23.7%) of the total (37,534 million), 3.4 points ahead of Catalonia (20.3%) and 10.7 points above the Valencian Community (13%).

As for the , the Top 3 is formed by the United States , with sales worth 397 million euros, followed by Italy with 371 million euros and France , in third place with 218 million euros.
