The third issue of the magazine Olivatessen by Mercacei has featured GOYA® olive oils.
For the first time, the GOYA® Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, the Único Extra Virgin Olive Oil and the Sherry Vinegar Reserva to Pedro Ximénez have been the back cover of the Olivatessen magazine.
Edited by Mercaei, Olivatessen is an English publication with 15,000 copies dedicated exclusively to promoting extra virgin olive oil culture, gastronomy and the Mediterranean Diet, and to value its protagonists.
Along with the online version, Olivatessen is available at major international fairs and agri-food shows. Likewise, it can be located in the main gourmet and delicatessen stores of the capitals of Europe, Asia and America; Michelin-starred themed restaurants and Mediterranean cuisine; Department stores such as Harrods or Galeries Lafayette; Resorts and establishments dedicated to oleotourism, as well as gastronomic associations and cooking schools.
The GOYA® family of products grows year after year. Thus, after the launch in 2015 of the new format of 750 ml. Of our GOYA® Extra Virgin Olive Oil and the redesign of the GOYA® Black Olives line in cans, the GOYA® range of products was expanded in 2016 with new Vinegar lines (in its Balsamic varieties, in Jerez To Pedro Ximénez and Jerez Reserve to Pedro Ximénez) and Gazpacho GOYA®.
With our Gazpacho, we have fulfilled the dream of moving the consumer to the Andalusian countryside thanks to the combination of the best and freshest vegetables emulsified with GOYA® Único Extra Virgin Olive Oil and garnished with Sherry Vinegar and a pinch of salt.
In 2016 we have opened a line of organic products “GOYA® Organics” with the launch of our GOYA® Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, which occupies a prominent place among the best ecological oils in Spain and the world.
After its participation in the 2016 edition, Goya Spain plans to attend the 2017 edition of SIAL China, which will be held in Shanghai from the 17th to 19th of May.
Under the slogan “Inspire the Future of Food Business”, the 2017 edition of SIAL China will maintain the upward trend in the number of exhibitors and visitors.
The 2016 edition had 2,942 exhibitors (7.6% more than in 2015) from 67 countries worldwide, and 30 provinces of China, presenting their latest products and trends in food, receiving over 76,986 visitors (25.6% more than in 2015). Goya Spain also visited Latin America, where it participated in SIAL Brasil, held in the city of São Paulo in the month of June.
Goya Spain participated in the latest edition of the Feria Food and Hotel China 2016, held in Shanghai from the 7th to 9th of November.
At its own stand, located in the Spanish Pavilion, the public attended this point of reference for gastronomy in Asia, being able to discover first hand our Extra Virgin Olive Oil, thanks to which, as shown on our promotional poster, GOYA® products are a connecting link between America and China.
Goya Spain has participated in the latest edition of Seoul Food & Hotel, the event with the “greatest tradition, importance and international presence” of all those held in South Korea, as a result of the merger of the Food & Hotel Korea and Seoul Food exhibitions, both with 29 years of experience and history.
Along with other Spanish companies, Goya Spain has generated new business opportunities at this commercial event in South Korea, a country which in the last year, as confirmed by ICEX sources, has consumed 233 million euros of food and drink from Spain.
The 2017 edition of Seoul Food & Hotel will take place from the 16th to the 19th of May.
Other exhibitions attended by GOYA®
During 2016, Goya Spain was present at a large number of international agri-food exhibitions, the ideal showcase for its products, presenting the consumer with the essence of the Mediterranean diet. Among these exhibitions were the Alimentaria 2016 food exhibition, a biennial meeting held in Barcelona in April, and which will be held again in 2018, and Expo Antad & Alimentaria 2016 held in Guadalajara (Mexico).
Last July 14, the company in-house training took place. Food Security: Protocolo BRC/IFS Versión 7 developed for Goya Spain by Stacia Consultores. The main objective of this action was to provide GOYA® technicians with the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to guarantee the legal requirements associated with the new standards and certifications implemented in the company.
In this action, the consultant Jesús Cano Osuna, auditor of SGS, developed a day in which the novelties were discussed in the requirements of food safety management, product and process control, food safety plan (HACCP), In addition to the structure and general aspects of BRC.
A new training action that highlights the interest of Stacia Consultores to offer activities that combine the effectiveness and timeliness of their business and that allows them to know the latest news and secrets of each aspect of their companies.
The Spanish Federation of Food and Beverage Industries, an organization that represents the Spanish food and beverage industry (90% of the sector volume), collects in its publications the qualities of the products that make up the GOYA® family of products.

The presence of Goya Spain in fairs and agri-food competitions has become one of the pillars of its international commercial expansion.
In this way, along with the events in which it was given during 2016 and 2017, the oils and olives of Goya Spain have traveled to the five continents, being present in the fairs Anuga (ediciones 2011 y 2013), Alimentaria México (2012), SIAL Brasil (2012), SIAL China (2012), Australian Fine Food (2013), Olive Japan (2014), Korea Seoul Food (2014) and Foodex (2015).
