Japan Olive Oil Prize has presented its awards to the best oils 2018,where Goya Unico has received the Blend award “Best in Class”.

The presentation ceremony of these awards that recognizes the excellence of the products of the Meditarranean culture, took place at the end of last May during the seminar on virgin olive oils organized by JOOP during a cruise from Yokohama to Shanghai.

The JOOP awards are synonymous with excellence and impartiality, and are awarded annually by an internationally recognized jury panel.

Salón gourmets 2018

Premium Goya® extra virgin olive oils have participated in the stand “A whole world to discover” that Olive Oil from Spain has taken to the Salon de Gourmets 2018 held in Madrid, and in which the Interprofesional del Aceite has shown the inexhaustible versatility of olive oils in the kitchen and outside of it.

“A whole world to discover” has had room for cooking, but also for beauty, nutrition and, for the first time, cocktails, showing the aromas, flavors and textures that extra virgin olive oil can provide cocktails with and without alcohol. These innovative cocktail proposals have been designed by Héctor Henche, renowned creative director of Fizz Bartenders.

aove goya salon gourmetThe Olive Oils from Spain proposal has been completed with a classic at the International Salon of the Club de Gourmets, the most spectacular Oleoteca in the world, which reached a record this year, close to 400 references of extra virgin olive oils representing all the producing areas, and in which premium Goya olive oils have had a prominent place. Thus, they have participated in the Oleoteca de Oliva de Oliva de España; International Oleoteca of Europe; International Oleoteca of the USA and the Oleoteca International of Asia (visibility in China, Taiwan and Japan.

Iberoleum Coupage Goya Organics

The third edition of Iberoleum Guide has recognized Goya® “Organics” Extra Virgin Olive Oil as the best coupage in Spain for the 2017-2018 campaign. This recognition is added to the 2nd place ranked by this Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) in this guide of the best spanish Extra Virgin Olive Oils, with a total of 95.5 points.

Goya “Organics” Extra Virgin Olive Oil is a blend of the Picual, Hojiblanca and Picuda varieties which guarantee an extraordinary sensory experience: an intense fruity green aroma, with notes of herbs and green leaves, hints of tomato, apple, green almonds and artichokes, a balance between a bitter and peppery taste on the palate, harmonious and elegant.

This recognition is a reward for more than four decades of effort by Goya® Spain to offer the consumer EVOOs made and packaged with the best extra virgin olive oils from Spain. This aspect is confirmed by the Management area of the factory located in Seville: “The know-how of a packer lies in the selection and production of complex and harmonious coupages ‘authentic recipes of up to 5 varietals’ as we do in Goya Spain”.

The recognition of the IberOleum Guide to an extra virgin olive oil as the best coupage – comparable to what an olive oil mill would have for a monovarietal-, is the greatest satisfaction of all packers.

Together with “Organics”, the IberOleum Guide has also recognized Goya “Único” Extra Virgin Olive Oil, as the 13th best EVOO in Spain, with a total of 91.8 points.

Goya® Organics extra virgin olive oil and Unico continue collecting new awards at international competitions. Thus, the Olive Oil Award Zurich have awarded Gold Medal to Goya “Unico” Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Silver to “Organics”.

These two new awards reward the constant work of Goya Spain to bring consumers the best extra virgin olive oils in Spain.

The Olive Oil Awards of Zurich have counted with the participation of 126 oils from 9 countries.

Premios NYIOOC 2018

Goya® premium extra virgin olive oils have been awarded with two gold medals at the NYIOOC 2018 held at New York.

These awards to Goya® “Organics” and “Unico” Extra Virgin Olive Oil are in addition to the recognitions achieved by our gourmet extra virgin olive oils in different competitions held around the world.

With 1.000 entries from 28 countries partipating, the NYIOOC, is the world’s largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is widely considered to be the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils. All the entries are placed into 24 categories including organic, non-organic, blends and monovarietals, Northern and Southern Hemispheres and by intensity.

These awards recognize the effort of Goya Spain offering premium extra virgin olive oils with taste and
tradition as their main values.

The NYIOOC is organized by Olive Oil Times, the independent publication of record for the sector and the
most-read source for olive oil news and information.

Olive Japan 2018

Goya® premium extra virgin olive oils have been awarded with two gold medals at the Olive Japan 2018 International Competition (Tokyo).

These awards are in addition to the recognitions achieved by our gourmet extra virgin olive oils in different national and international competitions.

The Olive Japan 2018 International Competition, consolidated as a world benchmark for extra virgin olive oils, has had the participation of more than 600 EVOO brands.

Alimentaria 2018 was the space chosen for the presentation of the IberOleum, the Guide with the best 100 Extra Virgin Oils in Spain.

In it, Goya Spain has been placed among the best references in production of EVOO, ranking the 2nd position for Organics Extra Virgin Olive Oil and best coupage in Spain, and the 13th for Unico Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

The International Olive Oil Council (IOC) has officially presented the winners and finalists of its Mario Solinas Awards for the quality of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, in which Goya® Organics Extra Virgin Olive Oil has been recognized as “the best green medium fruitiness in Spain”, ranking in the Top 5 world of this category.

As pointed out by the Executive Director of the IOC, Abdellatif Ghedira, these awards recognize the efforts of many producers around the world who have given the best of themselves, their land and their experience to offer us olive oils whose physical and chemical qualities Organoleptic properties have been carefully evaluated by qualified international experts.

The Mario Solinas Quality Awards was attended by a total of 189 extra virgin olive oils from Spain, Italy, Morocco, Portugal, Greece, Tunisia, Turkey, France, Brazil, China, and Croatia. Classified according to the intensity of the fruit, the olive oils in the contest have been scored on an evaluation sheet in which the olfactory, gustatory and retronasal sensations, as well as their harmony, complexity and persistence have been rated.

The Mario Solinas Awards ceremony will be held on 29 June 2018, during the Fancy Food Show in New York. In this way, according to the Deputy Executive Director of the IOC, Jaime Lillo “we recognize the value of the United States as the world’s largest importer of olive oil and one of the most important frameworks for the promotion of the agri-food industry in the world, reaffirming the concept of quality extra virgin olive oil, principle of the international competition of the IOC “.

 

Visita del distribuidor en Japón de Goya España

Goya Spain factory has received the visit-training from our distributor in Japan, Imai and the agency Be Brave,  responsible for Goya Spain brand  in Japan.

During a week, the visit began with a stay in Ronda (Malaga), where the participants, accompanied by Goya Spain’s technicians,  made a complete immersion in the culture and andalusian traditions.

After it, the heads of Imai and Be Brave moved to Seville, to discover first-hand the full process of production of Goya Spain products by the visit to the factory, training sessions on the Goya products portfolio and an interesting extra virgin olive oils tasting.

Premios Mario Solinas 2018

The International Olive Council (IOC), has published the Mario Solinas Quality Awards 2018, in which Goya® Organics Extra Virgin Olive Oil has been recognized as “the best green medium fruitiness” in Spain”, ranking in the Top 5 world wide in this category.

The Mario Solinas Quality Awards tested a total of 189 extra virgin olive oils from Spain, Italy, Morocco, Portugal, Greece, Tunisia, Turkey, France, Brazil, China, and Croatia. Classified according to the intensity of the fruit, the olive oils in the contest have been scored on an evaluation sheet in which the olfactory, gustatory and retronasal sensations, as well as their harmony, complexity and persistence have been rated.

In the case of Goya® Organics Extra Virgin Olive Oil and in the “Green Medium Fruitiness” category, the IOC jury has valued its fruity green aroma, with notes of herbs and green leaves, hints of tomato, apple, green almonds and artichokes, a balance between a bitter and peppery taste on the palate, harmonious and elegant, which has allowed it to become finalist and “the best green medium fruitiness“ extra virgin olive oil in Spain.

With this recognition, the International Olive Council values ​​the effort developed by Goya® Spain in its vocation to offer a premium EVOO of quality and authentic taste for the most demanding consumer.

The Mario Solinas Awards ceremony will be held on 29 June 2018, during the Fancy Food Show in New York (United States).
