About World’s Best Olive Oils
World’s Best Olive Oils (WBOO) is a non-profit, nongovernmental organization headed by Heiko Schmidt, taster and olive oil expert.
Constituted and supported by leading professional tasters and international olive oil experts,
it compiles each year the ranking of the best extra virgin olive oils in the world based on the results of the most stringent international extra virgin olive oil competitions, appreciating the value of the highest quality ones.
Congratulations to all the EVOOs recognized by this ranking.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition has once again recognized the quality of Goya’s extra virgin olive oils. Our GOYA® Premium Organics and Unico and GOYA® Robusto olive oils have been recognized with three gold medals in the 2024 edition.
With these three awards, Goya EVOOs surpass twenty recognitions in this contest since 2018 (19 gold medals to Unico, Organics and Robusto, plus two silver medals to our extra virgin oil).
As Antonio Carrasco, General Manager of Goya España, highlights, these three medals are “the best recognition to the family that forms Goya España and that for 50 years has been striving every day to bring consumers the best extra virgin olive oil produced from the best olives grown in the olive groves of southern Spain”.
About Goya EVOOs
Each Goya EVOO has its own organoleptic characteristics. Within the green fruity group, GOYA® Robusto is an intense green fruity oil, while GOYA® Unico and Organics, Goya’s Premium EVOOs stand out, among other qualities, for their great complexity of aromatic nuances.
GOYA® Unico extra virgin olive oil is the result of the careful selection of Hojiblanca and Picuda olive varieties from Andalucía. Unico oil provides a sensory experience with an intense aroma of fresh herbs, fruit trees and tomatoes. In this fruity green aroma, notes of tomato, almond and apple stand out.
GOYA® Organics, a perfect blend of the Hojiblanca and Picuda de Andalucía varieties, offers an extraordinary sensory experience: an intense and fruity green aroma, with notes of grass and green leaves, hints of tomato, apple, green almond and artichoke, and an elegant balance in the mouth.
GOYA® Robusto is made from Andalusian Hojiblanca and Arbequina olive varieties. Robusto evokes nuances of freshly cut grass, leaves, aromatic herbs, green tomato and artichokes for consumers. This sensation of freshness is highlighted by the intensity of the olive oil, which provides sweet and pleasant flavors on the palate. GOYA® Robusto is a very balanced olive oil, with a sweetness on the palate and an intense green aroma.
For Goya España, each award received is a guarantee for consumers. Nowaday, the extra virgin olive oils have more than 300 international awards and are at the top of the main national and international guides and rankings. In 2024, Goya oils are present in the main competitions. In addition to the prizes awarded to the olives, Goya España celebrates its 50th anniversary of foundation (1974-2024), with more than 500 awards for its products.
